New Beginnings
My Granddaughter needs prayer
Published on June 1, 2008 By skybright In WinCustomize Talk

I was gone the month of April to Ft Campbell, KY as my daughter was having a new baby.  Stormie Sky was born on April 19.  A preemie at 6.9 lbs, a joy to behold.  After I returned home my daughter, Kristina noticed Stormie had a Petechiae/Angioma above one of her eyes. This is a red mark where a blood vessel has been broken and normally is not serious.

Last week Stormie became ill with a fever and a green discharge from the eye with the Petechiae. At the doctors office bad news fell hard upon our hearts.  Stormie has a heart murmur diagnosed by two different doctors. She needs further testing...EKG, Xrays to determine the cause which I think will be done sometime next week. And that alone is great cause for concern.  Upon further examination of her eye the Petechiace is an Angioma which means there is a bump on the inside of the eyelid resting upon her eye.  Kristina is taking Stormie to an eye specialist in Nashville TN on Monday.

My daughter is alone with four other childern to care for; besides running the entire household by herself. Joe is serving in Iraq. He did get RR for 18 days and was home when Stormie was born. Which was a huge blessing for our family.

It is not possible for me to go back to Ky now...so I ask that this great community to come together to  pray for Kristina to have the strength to endure whatever may come...whatever she must do.  I especially ask for prayer for Stormie. She may be small but, she is strong. She eats well and continues to gain weight. So I hope that she will live up to her name and storms through to a full recovery.  I will report undates on her health soon as we know anything further.

I took a ss of Stormie and uploaded it to image shack but alas I do not know how to post it here. I tried to upload her picture to my photo gallery but alas WC will not let me

The prayers of my family go out to you and yours, you will become stronger because of what you are now enduring....

13 years ago my youngest daughter gave birth to a baby boy and he was diagnosed as having Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy and a Left Hemiplegia (a huge lump behind his left ear and a left arm that will never grow to fullsize)) shortly after his birth and to add to the little guys' misfortunes his mother rejected him because of his conditions. My darling wife and I immediately stepped forward and rather than see him go into a home for disabled children we have raised him ourselves, teaching him to walk and talk (even after being told that he would never do so) and making sure that his qiality of life is the best that it can be. He now attends mainstream school, plays PC and Console games (mostly RPGs cos that's my thing) almost as well as I can and is a few short months away from his 14th Birthday.

Although it has been a long, at times seemingly endless, road, we would not have done things differently at all... Colin has turned into a young man that I am proud to say is my Grandson.

I sincerely hope that Stormie fully recovers sooner rather than later, the prayers of my "special" little man will include her till she does.

God Bless

Thank You Leo and A big hug to your adorable Mark. Your comment brought tears to my eyes, I was so touched.

I just spoke with Kristina and read to her all the comments and wonderful prayers and good thoughts everyone is sending for Stormie and her family. It brought comfort to her; and she asked me to thank everyone.
